The Agricultural College of Utah was founded on March 8, 1888 and was later named Utah State University in 1957. The University was created due to President Abraham Lincoln signing the Morrill Land-Grant Colleges Act, giving each state the opportunity to create a new school. The university continues to stay true to its mission of educating the state of Utah by maintaining a presence in every county.
USU has a total enrollment of more than 27,000 students in a given year. The student body is made up of all 29 counties in Utah, all 50 states and more than 88 countries. It has more than 160 undergraduate degrees and 143 graduate degrees.

The community of Logan enjoys USU for many reasons, one being its phenomenal athletic programs. If you were ever worried about missing sports by moving to a smaller town, think again. USU is a NCAA Division 1 school in the Mountain West Conference. The school continually produces athletes that go on to become pro athletes. USU’s student section is also known to be one of the loudest in the entire nation with its creative cheers and student unity.

Another great aspect that USU offers residents of Logan is fantastic art and cultural programs. The Caine College of the Arts offers a plethora of different styles of music and entertainment. USU has fabulous art exhibits and free concerts weekly. On top of the college of fine arts USU has some impeccable museums that always have free admission.
